Harmonizing the socio-economic gap—one person at a time.

(ie. a small-scale solution to a large-scale problem)

  • I get it. Investing in your personal transformation can be hella expensive—especially in this economy. And as someone who has heavily relied on free community resources and sliding scale pricing in the past to get to where I am today, I have a bone-deep understanding of the difference it can make.

The personal development industry often paints prospective clients unwillingness or inability to shell out for coaching as a “lack of commitment”—and while that IS true for some people, my personal and professional experience has taught me that it’s certainly not the case for everyone.

As such, I offer 2-4 sliding scale ($200-$800/mo) coaching spaces per year for highly-committed individuals who the coaching industry has left behind.

    Please note:

    • The number of these opportunities at any given time is dependent on the scale of my emotional, physical, and financial overflow. Because I subsidize these opportunities out-of-pocket, I can only offer you support to the degree that I am supported.

    • It is my joy to offer these opportunities—not my obligation.

    • I am a human being—not a charity, a hero, or your saviour.

    • I am not a social worker nor am I trained in primary crisis care. If you are in an extreme or urgent situation with your finances, I am not the right person to help you.

*** For a list of free resources and emergency support lines, click here.

  • This opportunity IS for you if:

    • You come from an economically-disadvantaged, and/or culturally or historically-oppressed background.

    • You have access to basic needs such as food, shelter, childcare, and healthcare, though affording them can sometimes feel challenging.

    • You have access to employment or freelance income, but limited or non-existent access to financial support from your partner(s), family, community, or financial institutions.

    • You have limited expendable income each month after meeting your basic needs, and while you’re able to save some money, saving enough to afford my full fee would take longer than 12 months or jeopardize your emergency savings (and by extension, your safety).

  • This opportunity is not for you if:

    • You may be working on paying off debt or building your personal savings, but it doesn’t get in the way of affording basic survival needs such as food, shelter, childcare, healthcare etc.

    • You have access to steady employment income and/or financial support from your partner(s), family, community, or financial institutions.

    • Investing in coaching may require you to make some sacrifices on discretionary spending such as dining out, non-essential retail, luxury grooming (hair, nails, facials, fillers etc.), and vacations, but such sacrifices will not harm you.

*** Please consider inquiring about payment plans or getting on my group coaching waitlist if paying my full 1:1 fee still feels inaccessible***

This opportunity is especially not for you if:

    • You have little to no debt and access to ample financial security in the form of any of the following: personal savings, credit, personal real estate, investments, and steady income from employment and/or from your partner(s), family, community, or financial institutions.

    • You are able to pay for "wants" and spend little time worrying about affording basic survival needs such as food, shelter, childcare, healthcare etc.

    • You have inherited and/or built economic privilege and power in your community.

If you identify with either of the descriptions above, I invite you to consider if you can make some short-term sacrifices on luxury spending, get creative, or reach out to others for financial support without jeopardizing your safety. By resisting the temptation to select a lower price when you can honestly afford a higher one, you ensure access for those who sincerely require financial flexibility to pay for coaching. Your truthfulness regarding your financial situation is a life-giving gift to yourself, to me, and to this growing community

  • Applications for scholarships go through my 1:1 application form.

Please mention your interest in applying for a scholarship in the question box at the bottom of the form that reads: “Is there anything else you’d like me to know?”

  • 1 — How do you verify each client’s financial situation?

I don’t. I use an honour system, meaning I trust my clients to act in integrity with their highest values when applying for scholarship support. Nosing around finances is your accountant’s job, not mine :)

That being said, things will inevitably get awkward if you let slip the purchase of your second vacation home while in my scholarship program.

Far better (and easier) to just be honest!

2 — Do you take insurance?

I do not. As far as I know, there are no insurance companies—public or private—currently cover coaching as part of their policies.

3 — Is coaching tax deductible?

It depends. Generally no, unless you’re hiring a business coach (which I am not).

Some of my client’s employers offer a monthly stipend for growth-related expenses, in which case it might qualify.

Some of my pro athlete clients have also managed to write off my services by listing them on their returns as “mindset coaching” (which I technically do).

Nevertheless, I make no guarantees, and I advise you to check in with your accountant if this is a deciding factor for you.
